Pregnancy Loss

I would like to start off by saying that I am so sorry for anyone who has experienced a pregnancy loss. Pregnancy takes you on a journey through different stages month to month and even before seeing your baby, you start to sense and feel changes in your body as it works hard to nurture the babies development. The bond develops even more once you see the baby move and wiggle and this is why a pregnancy loss is such a unique grief. You are mourning a loss of a bond that is directly merged from within. I have experienced two losses and I understand how difficult it can all be. Here are some things that have helped me through my losses. Practice Affirmations -  This can be helpful because we all know words hold a lot of power. Speaking and thinking with kindness, can be a healing emotional tool when you are going through hard times. Connecting with nature -  Whether it is sitting with your indoor plants, spending time in your garden, visiting a park or venturing out for hikes, na...

Breaking Boundaries

There is so much to life, yet we tend to forget just how extraordinary the world is. According to my research, there are 195 countries in the world, approximately 8.7 million species of animal and a plethora of other interesting things that are out there. And I mention this because most of us are guilty of boxing ourselves in, out of fear, belief systems and social pressures. But the reality is there is nothing stopping you from stepping outside of the invisible parameters that you live in. I used to find myself feeling stuck because I was living in a little bubble forgetting that there is an unlimited amount of different routes, directions and choices for me to try out. Here are some tips that have helped me: Routines are important as you can cultivate and master things from a good routine. look at your daily patterns and ask yourself how could you change things to better improve your lifestyle.  Mindset; Take time to listen to yourself and look at, how you could ...

Treat Yourself To Some Time Alone

When I think about coziness, I think about being warm and comfortable. I picture myself centering into tranquility in the comfort of my home. I usually try and make Sunday my lazy day where I let go of any sense of guilt towards not being productive.  To me, it is simply my day to relax, slow down and refuel my energy. Don't get me wrong, I still potter around doing some light tidying or cooking, but it is all done with minimal stress. Setting The Ambience Creating a nice mood helps you feel a sense of harmony within your living environment and allows you to truly feel relaxed and be at ease at home. It is supposed to be your safe zone and the ultimate place to retreat from the outside world. This means you should be conscious about looking after your home so that you can work towards making your space as inviting and comfortable for yourself as possible. Time for You We often have multiple interactions with people daily, whether it is in person, on the phone, ...

Transformation

Most of us desire positive change and development but many of us struggle to keep the momentum going because we have our mind and outside influences to contend with. One thing we can all agree with is that change and development are far from easy and that it requires an ongoing effort. Feeling stuck is demotivating and repetitive and it heavily affects our mood, thought patterns and our overall well-being. This invisible obstacle needs to be looked at as a wake-up call. This helps us take on the necessary steps towards changing things for ourselves. I have found the following tips helpful: Establishing your goals   Write in detail why you wish to change  Write a plan Prepare yourself mentally  Decide to make the commitment to yourself when you are ready Begin your self-work journey Identifying these key areas will help support you on your journey and help you develop some much-needed self-discipline that will attract forth new opportunities a...

Aromatherapy Oils

Aromatherapy has been practised for thousands of years and has continued to serve us in a variety of ways. The oils are used in medicines, cosmetics, recipes, rituals and spas frequently for their aroma, medicinal, ceremonial and therapeutic benefits. Most recently, essential oils have been used in hospitals as clinical complimentary treatments in patient care. This is a positive sign that shows how marrying modern medicines and holistic services together can greatly help with improving well being.  Emotions Our emotions vary and the feelings we experience can unsettle us at times. Essential oils are useful as we can implement them daily to help us with our emotions. There are oils that help to relax, de-stress, boost mood, and stimulate our senses. One of my go-to oils is Frankincense which serves to help with a number of areas. It is an oil that has the potential to balance hormones and can be used to relieve depression and anxiety symptoms.  Bod...

The Gift of Nature

Nature never ceases to amaze me. It offers us a wealth of information; recipes, health benefits, beauty aids etc. There is plenty to learn and appreciate about the gifts of nature. Symbolic Ties  We can personalise seasonal patterns and behaviours by reflecting upon natures symbolic meanings to find comfort from our own perspectives. For example, when you face difficulty it may seem unbearable, but once you take a moment to look outside of yourself, nature proves that things can get better with time and rebirth is often essential. I believe that the same way nature adapts against the odds, we too can do the same. It also amazes me, how cultures relate to nature symbolically. With Feng Shui, for instance, flowers are thought to hold energy and protect. In Florology, however, flowers express messages between people. The Gift Of Aromatherapy  The oils are extracted through different methods to produce precious oils. These gifts are called essen...

EMPOWERING YOUR THOUGHTS

Waking up with a feeling of gratitude towards life is beneficial for our well being. We all have days where we wake up and struggle to find positivity. Reminding yourself of the good things in life will help encourage healthier thoughts to spread throughout your day. Empowering Ourselves The phrase "What you think, you become" holds a lot of truth.  We have to be kinder to ourselves to transform and maintain productive thoughts that serve to empower us. We also need to acknowledge doubtful and depressing thoughts often stem from other peoples actions or words. When I acknowledged this myself, I knew I had to work on my thoughts to rebuild my inner peace. To affirm positive thoughts, I do these following things: ·    Meditation is continuing to teach me how to calm my thoughts and bring my attention to the present moment. ·    Singing positive songs can be motivating and has a positive influence on my thoughts and mood. ·    List...
