Breaking Boundaries

There is so much to life, yet we tend to forget just how extraordinary the world is. According to my research, there are 195 countries in the world, approximately 8.7 million species of animal and a plethora of other interesting things that are out there. And I mention this because most of us are guilty of boxing ourselves in, out of fear, belief systems and social pressures. But the reality is there is nothing stopping you from stepping outside of the invisible parameters that you live in.

I used to find myself feeling stuck because I was living in a little bubble forgetting that there is an unlimited amount of different routes, directions and choices for me to try out.

Here are some tips that have helped me:
  • Routines are important as you can cultivate and master things from a good routine. look at your daily patterns and ask yourself how could you change things to better improve your lifestyle.
  • Mindset; Take time to listen to yourself and look at, how you could improve your thinking habits because your mindset reflects your reality. Try your best to read and listen to different things because it helps to broaden your thought-process.
  • Be open-minded. In fact, the definition of being open-minded is "willingness to try new things and to hear or consider new ideas."Being set in your ways is not a good thing.
  • Try and try again. Do not give up. When you try something new, it may not play out the way you wanted it to but by trying you can learn to improve and you'll get better with time.

The power of being open-minded does not mean that you have to disregard your strong values and views. However, having fixed views can block different scopes of understanding and reasoning.

Helpful Ways To Overcome Challenges

Working Through Difficulty 2017 has challenged me in many ways. July and August presented difficult situations which have brought forward uneasy emotions. Practicing mindfulness has been particularly difficult during this time. However, I know inner work is most crucial when you are faced with life’s obstacles. The healthiest approach to dealing with situations is by working on mindfulness and restoring inner peace. I have learned and accepted that there are so many layers to life, to people and to situations. Life can really get complex and sometimes things are beyond our control. Below are some of the things that have helped me push through. Reading Read up lifting books that improve your outlook and spirits. You could get something out of reading a comedic book that cheers you up or a fictional book that takes you to another place. How about a biography that inspires you or a self-help book to gain a different perspective. Books hold so much value and pur...

Comforting Ambience

Comforting Ambience Creating an ambience at work and at home can be a simple way to uplift you and invite peace and comfort into your personal space. Having a serene work space is important for your productivity and mental well-being.   Flowers can be a simple and effective addition to creating a calm work environment. They can add colour and aroma to your surroundings and provide an often needed element of nature. If purchasing real flowers seem too costly, you have the option of buying beautiful synthetic replicates that look and feel like fresh flowers. Personally, my favourite tip is to make sure that your work environment is kept clean and tidy. Taking pride in sustaining a presentable work space helps with maintaining mental clarity and is a visual reflection of your professional standards. Creating an ambience at home promotes relaxation, peace, and balance, which in turn gives you a space yourself and others can enjoy...

Pregnancy Loss

I would like to start off by saying that I am so sorry for anyone who has experienced a pregnancy loss. Pregnancy takes you on a journey through different stages month to month and even before seeing your baby, you start to sense and feel changes in your body as it works hard to nurture the babies development. The bond develops even more once you see the baby move and wiggle and this is why a pregnancy loss is such a unique grief. You are mourning a loss of a bond that is directly merged from within. I have experienced two losses and I understand how difficult it can all be. Here are some things that have helped me through my losses. Practice Affirmations -  This can be helpful because we all know words hold a lot of power. Speaking and thinking with kindness, can be a healing emotional tool when you are going through hard times. Connecting with nature -  Whether it is sitting with your indoor plants, spending time in your garden, visiting a park or venturing out for hikes, na...
