EMPOWERING YOUR THOUGHTS

Waking up with a feeling of gratitude towards life is beneficial for our well being. We all have days where we wake up and struggle to find positivity. Reminding yourself of the good things in life will help encourage healthier thoughts to spread throughout your day. Empowering Ourselves The phrase "What you think, you become" holds a lot of truth.  We have to be kinder to ourselves to transform and maintain productive thoughts that serve to empower us. We also need to acknowledge doubtful and depressing thoughts often stem from other peoples actions or words. When I acknowledged this myself, I knew I had to work on my thoughts to rebuild my inner peace. To affirm positive thoughts, I do these following things: ·    Meditation is continuing to teach me how to calm my thoughts and bring my attention to the present moment. ·    Singing positive songs can be motivating and has a positive influence on my thoughts and mood. ·    List...

Freeing Your Mind

. There are an estimated 7.5 billion people in this world and sadly, only a fraction are truly living their lives to the fullest. We all come from unique backgrounds and experienced life differently. These are factors that heavily influence our outlook on life. A negative way of thinking can prevent you from experiencing life to the fullest. This post is going to touch upon working on freeing yourself from a limited mindset.  A good way to experience more out of life is by exploring ideas, travelling and having the will to do different things. Challenging your formed ideas should be encouraged, as it will either confirm them or help you look at things from a different perspective. If we as a society never challenged the general consensus, we wouldn't have been able to move forward and progress. Due to people persevering regardless of the odds, we are fortunate to have advanced in so many ways. We just have to look at the way healthcare has developed and the wid...

Aging Gracefully

Age is a touchy subject and most of us feel uncomfortable about it. I can completely relate to feeling like I haven't accomplished enough for my age. It is important to remind ourselves that there is nothing stopping us from still going after what we want and manifesting our dreams. Here are some examples of people who accomplished great achievements later on in their lives: Jk Rowland - 32  Henry Ford - 45 Bethany Frankel - 35 Grandma Moses - 78  Julia Child age - 50  Jane Lynch - 40 Vera Wang - 40 Colonel Sanders - 60 Chris Gardner - 44 Susanne Boyle - 47 Martha Stewart - 40  Growing older rewards us with the gifts of knowledge, growth, wisdom and a sense of maturity. We can sometimes take these gifts for granted. So if you're not where you want to be in life or you are starting to feel your age, try to remember that it gives you an advantage and if you choose to look at it that way, you can let go of what is holding you ba...

Morning Starts

Morning starts are never easy. I believe that a good morning routine can help everyone start the day on a positive note. This blog will concentrate on implementing effective healthy habits and practices in the mornings. Finding Appreciation It is important to value what we have. This reduces the unhealthy thoughts that make us believe we need more in order to be happy. Each day gifts us with a fresh start and we have the chance to appreciate everything we are fortunate to have. Gratitude Diary Writing down what you are thankful for is a great way to start your day in a more positive way. Even if you are not feeling your best, you still have plenty to be grateful for.  Examples of this could be as simple as being appreciative for the ability to eat, your pet’s unconditional love, to having water etc. Ultimately, gratitude journaling helps us to appreciate life, by encouraging us to focus our attention on the positive things that impact our lives. ...

Helpful Ways To Overcome Challenges

Working Through Difficulty 2017 has challenged me in many ways. July and August presented difficult situations which have brought forward uneasy emotions. Practicing mindfulness has been particularly difficult during this time. However, I know inner work is most crucial when you are faced with life’s obstacles. The healthiest approach to dealing with situations is by working on mindfulness and restoring inner peace. I have learned and accepted that there are so many layers to life, to people and to situations. Life can really get complex and sometimes things are beyond our control. Below are some of the things that have helped me push through. Reading Read up lifting books that improve your outlook and spirits. You could get something out of reading a comedic book that cheers you up or a fictional book that takes you to another place. How about a biography that inspires you or a self-help book to gain a different perspective. Books hold so much value and pur...

Feeling Fruity?

Medicinal Fruit Not only does fruit taste nice, it contains natural resources that have the potential to help us internally and externally by supplying the body with vitamins, antioxidants, nutrients and more. Fruits are able to reduce certain symptoms and are often used as a complimentary treatment to heal the body. There are many benefits to consuming fruits and here are a few of my favourites.  Banana Bananas are one of the most consumed fruits in the world. Besides being incredibly tasty, bananas provide the body with healthy nutrients and resources that have the potential to reduce anxiety, lower blood sugar levels and naturally boost your mood!  Banana produces three natural sugars: sucrose, fructose and glucose. These sugars help provide energy to the body. Natural fibres found in the banana helps with digestion and reducing cholesterol. Bananas also produce a protein called tryptophan, which is converted to serotonin, which is known to be...
