Alternative Therapy's

                                                            Natural Therapeutic Treatments
We live in a hectic, fast-paced time and life can often be very overwhelming. Between the pressures of society and the expectations we put on ourselves, it can feel like it is all too much. For this reason, it is important to really centre ourselves in order to regain inner peace.

Below are a few alternative therapeutic treatments that can help improve the mind, body and soul.

Ecotherapy

Ecotherapy is a therapeutic technique to help people achieve wellness through working with nature and the outdoors.

Ecotherapy has these benefits:

·         Improves mindfulness

·         Encourages you to be active

·         Helps you connect with nature

·         Improves mental well-being

·         Can help build confidence and social skills

I have a personal connection with Ecotherapy, (which is a new term to me, I have always called it Green Therapy.) My mother has suffered from long-term mental health problems. The one activity that got her out of the house was when she got herself involved with a gardening group. She continues to teach me about the wonders of nature.

Music therapy

This is by far one of the most helpful and enjoyable therapies. Music has the power to help us connect with ourselves and express, learn and bond with people from all walks of life, through the use of different musical mediums.

Music therapy has the ability to help with the following:

·         Cognitive function

·          Uplift spirits

·         Help improve communication abilities

·         Improve mental health

·         Improve social skills

·         Enhance self-awareness

Personally, I am working on music therapy because I am naturally an introvert and music therapy is helping me find my voice.

Art therapy

Art therapy is a healing approach to addressing emotional issues. This is another form of therapy that helps people express themselves creatively, myself included - I personally enjoy pencil sketching. I love how people can really embrace their creative style by using materials and other art forms to communicate or relay a
message.

Art therapy has these benefits:

·         Address emotional issues

·         Improve mental well-being

·         Help you to get in touch with your creative side

·         Improve mindfulness

·         Build confidence

These different therapeutic methods have proven to help impact a lot of people's lives. If you are looking to get into some alternative therapies, there are many programmes you can join. Alternatively, you can practice them independently.

Treat Yourself To Some Time Alone

When I think about coziness, I think about being warm and comfortable. I picture myself centering into tranquility in the comfort of my home. I usually try and make Sunday my lazy day where I let go of any sense of guilt towards not being productive.  To me, it is simply my day to relax, slow down and refuel my energy. Don't get me wrong, I still potter around doing some light tidying or cooking, but it is all done with minimal stress. Setting The Ambience Creating a nice mood helps you feel a sense of harmony within your living environment and allows you to truly feel relaxed and be at ease at home. It is supposed to be your safe zone and the ultimate place to retreat from the outside world. This means you should be conscious about looking after your home so that you can work towards making your space as inviting and comfortable for yourself as possible. Time for You We often have multiple interactions with people daily, whether it is in person, on the phone, ...

Root Chakra

Root Chakra  Colour Of Energy Centre:  Red  Element: Earth  Mantra: Lam  Location: Base of spine  Sansckrit Name: Muladhara  This is the first series of mini blogs based on chakra centres and affirmations.  Affirmations are an additional ritual that can be added to your meditation, mantras and different types of movement practices as you are working on yourself and creating your routines. The root chakra is the first out of the seven energy centres, and it  helps to harmonise all the other energy centres.    I recommend that you revisit this energy centre to help you feel grounded within our often highly stimulating lives. Working on the root chakra encourages us to focus our attention on these areas:   Creating safe and secure spaces for your self and others  To practice grounding exercises  Helps you to work and understand your basic needs  Reminds you to continue to nurture stable healthy foundation...

Comforting Ambience

Comforting Ambience Creating an ambience at work and at home can be a simple way to uplift you and invite peace and comfort into your personal space. Having a serene work space is important for your productivity and mental well-being.   Flowers can be a simple and effective addition to creating a calm work environment. They can add colour and aroma to your surroundings and provide an often needed element of nature. If purchasing real flowers seem too costly, you have the option of buying beautiful synthetic replicates that look and feel like fresh flowers. Personally, my favourite tip is to make sure that your work environment is kept clean and tidy. Taking pride in sustaining a presentable work space helps with maintaining mental clarity and is a visual reflection of your professional standards. Creating an ambience at home promotes relaxation, peace, and balance, which in turn gives you a space yourself and others can enjoy...
